THE postbox at Tesco in Launceston is no longer in service.

A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “Unfortunately a third party company, which operated the post box in the Launceston Tesco store, has gone into liquidation and is no longer able to provide this service. Customers can use the nearby Royal Mail post box in Hurdon Road, 118 metres away.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to reassure customers that in the UK, over 98% of households are still within half a mile of a post box.”
