BUDE General Post Office is to oversee the management of Whitstone and Week St Mary sub post offices, which will ensure that the service remains in the two rural communities.
Whitstone and Week St Mary are in the cluster that will be overseen and managed by the main post office in Bude.
Bude Postmaster General Luke Francis said this means that the present sub postmasters Daniel Cock at Whitstone and Geoff Roberts at Week St Mary will continue to run their post offices on a day to day basis, and Bude will oversee the management of the branches.
Week St Mary will continue to have the same opening times, and Whitstone will be upgraded to a full time branch.
All normal post office services will be available but customers will only be able to pay by cash or debit card, and not cheques. Personal banking will remain the same.
Also, as a way forward to increase business for these post offices, they will be looking into providing a facility for customers to be able to purchase their car tax at the branches.
Luke added: "The sub postmasters are overjoyed that they won't be losing their post office and the people of the two villages are delighted that the protest and campaign made Post Watch review the closure.
"I look forward to working with Dan and Geoff and I'm sure they're both up to the challenge of keeping their local post office serving the rural community."
A Post Office spokesman said the outreach services to Week St Mary and Whitstone were still under review.
