THE winners of our photography competition in June have been announced.

With the theme being ‘Iconic Buildings’ in June, it presented many opportunities for people in the Post area to take a snap of an iconic, beautiful or popular building in their local area to send in for the competition.

This month, we recognised Martin Coupe for his lovely image of the stunning Tintagel Church under a blue sky, as one of our winners of the week. However, Martin also sent in a photo of the narrow, cobbled streets of Clovelly, which was certainly a strong contender.

We also had an entry from Bude’s David Coney, who sent a before and after photo of the Jennings coach building in Bude, naming them ‘Out with the old, in with the new’. He said: “I have attached a 2015 photo of the Jennings coach building in Bude, which originally was the old picture house in Lansdown Road and now has been demolished prior to the probable erection of a new Travel Lodge. I have also attached a photo of the partly demolished building.” The photos are a great way of showing a glimpse into Bude’s past!

However, our winner for June had to go to Deborah Lamerton from St Tudy, whose incredible image of a towering engine house at Minions really stands out. Deborah’s photo will be used as the June month in our end-of-year calendar. Well done, Deborah!

Our photography competition theme for July is ‘By the Coast’, and being in Devon and Cornwall, readers really will have plenty of opportunities to be by the beach — particularly if this weather sticks around!

Whether you’re walking along the cliffs or a coastal path, having a day on the beach with your family or are lucky enough to have a coastal view from your window, take a snap and send it in to [email protected] with some details about yourself, where you are from, where the photo was taken and a picture caption.
