BY The Coast was our theme for July’s photography competition — a fitting way to pay tribute to our local beaches and coastal scenery.
The winner for July overall was 19-year-old vet student Eliza Daniel, from Holsworthy, with her beautiful image overlooking the coast at Bedruthan Steps in Cornwall, titled ‘Walking On The Edge’.
But we had plenty of entries worthy of recognition. The first came from Nicola Foulds from Polyphant with ‘Sunset over Bude Sea Pool’, followed closely by Hannah Daniel from Holsworthy with ‘A sunny beach stop’, depicting a mountain of pebbles on her local beach. Another entry we loved was from Margaret Peters of Whitstone, showing the amazing, classical seaside colours of the beach huts at Summerleaze in Bude.
This moves us swiftly into August — peak summertime — which makes this month’s theme ‘Summer Sunsets’ a great way to get outdoors and take some time to snap away at the beautiful evening skies.
With colours bright and vibrant, or dull and dusky at this time of the day, we’re sure there will be many lovely sunsets to capture and send in to us.
Send your entries to [email protected] with some details about the photo and where you are from. For readers with Instagram, make sure you’re following us (@thepostseries), then post your photo to your page, tag us and send us some details via direct message. Good luck!
