THE Post was delighted to receive an influx of entries for August’s ‘Post Photography Competition’ theme, ‘Summer Sunsets’.
All entries showed the true beauty of the local area, from overlooking meadows and fields to looking out at the shimmery waters of the sea.
We had two ‘winner of the week’ entries — the first being a beautiful image taken at Crooklets beach in Bude by Hannah Daniel from Holsworthy, and the second being a delightful red and gold photograph taken at Widemouth Bay from Bill Walker of Marhamchurch. Both taken at beaches, the images feature golden reflections upon the sand and the water, as well as some stunning colours of the sky.
But our winner of the month had to go to Henry Westlake from Clawton, whose photograph, also taken at Widemouth Bay, really stood out with its deep reds and oranges of the sky, really showing the stunning transition from day to night. Henry’s photograph will be featured as the August image for our end-of-year calendar.
With transitions from day to night brings us onto the visible transition from summer to autumn, as we enter the month of September for our competition. This month, our theme for the Post Photography Competition is ‘Changing of the Trees’.
Whether it’s capturing the leaves beneath your feet, snapping away at the trees all around us, or perhaps even spotting a woodland animal within its natural habitat, send your photographs to [email protected] with your details and a photo title. You can also enter via Instagram, by posting your photo to your page, tagging us (@thepostseries) and sending us some details.
Good luck!
