THREE people in their 80s have ticked off an item on their bucket list after finally making it all the way up to Lobber Point in Port Isaac to admire the view with thanks to the local RNLI team.
Earlier this year Port Isaac RNLI received a letter from Richard Cotterill.
In the letter he said that he, his wife and her twin sister were very keen supporters of the RNLI, that they were all in their eighties and had a bucket list of things they wanted to achieve.
One of the things on their list was to sit on the bench on top of Lobber Point in Port Isaac so that they could look over the village.
They had tried to walk there previously but could only make it half way. They wondered if Port Isaac RNLI could help in achieving their wish.
Port Isaac RNLI Lifeboat operations manager, Chris Bolton, spoke with the land owner and got his permission to drive across his fields. He then arranged for Richard and his family to be collected from the top of the village and be driven to Lobber. As an added surprise they were served a cream tea prepared by vice chairman of Port Isaac RNLI, Liz Bolton.
It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon and the three of them soaked up the views. They were very grateful and presented Chris with a generous donation to the Port Isaac RNLI Lifeboat appeal.
