A busy day for the Poppy Appeal saw 116 boxes distributed in shops and businesses in Camelford and Tintagel and was followed with a Poppy Appeal window display in Fore Street, Camelford, put together by members of the RBL branch.

New Poppy Appeal organiser Julian Harman said this year’s local appeal was aimed at getting more people involved, including youth groups, and bringing the community together in the run-up to Remembrance services in Camelford and Tintagel.

On Wednesday, November 4 at 10am Mr Harman will lead a walk up Rough Tor with other veterans and members of the public to lay a wreath on the war memorial to the 43rd Wessex Division. Anyone interested in joining them would be welcome and should meet in the car park at Rough Tor for a 10.30am departure or ring Julian on 01840 213117.
