A WILD Dartmoor pony was rescued by Delabole firefighters from a frozen pond on Davidstow Moor on Tuesday, January 6.

Two crews from Delabole Fire Brigade responded to reports that a pony was stuck in ice on a frozen pond, measuring 20 square metres, on the moor.

Officers in dry suits wrapped a length of hose around the pony and crews pulled it to the edge of the ice.

The pony was rescued uninjured and re-released.
