Since moving to Camelford in the early 2000s, Claire has worked hard for her local community — as a school governor, treasurer of the local youth club, and as a founding trustee of the Old Bank, a charity that runs a disused bank as a community space, where she runs a weekly youth cafe for teenagers.
Claire joined Camelford Town Council in 2015 and has since worked on the Neighbourhood Plan, campaigned for Camelford to be declared an Air Quality Management Area, and led the successful delivery of a new skate park and the refurbishment of the Enfield Park Play Area.
Accepting the nomination, Claire said: “We are the only party that has been taking the changing climate seriously for the last 30 years rather than the last 18 months! We are clear in our position on Brexit and will campaign to remain. Our Green New Deal could transform the unfolding climate catastrophe into a fairer, greener world for current and future generations. I look forward to talking with the people of North Cornwall about what the Green Party has to offer them.”
