TO LEARN more about policing issues and proposals for health and care transformations the public is invited to attend the next Bude Community Network Panel meeting on Monday, January 9, to be held in the Parkhouse Centre.
The network panel meetings are held quarterly and representatives from leading health and social care organisations will be present to brief the panel on the draft ‘Sustainability and Transformation Plan’ — a five-year plan, which hopes to improve local health and wellbeing, the quality of services and financial stability.
The Bude Community Network Panel will discuss matters that affect the local area and will agree on priorities that Cornwall Council and partners like the police and health services should deliver. Some of the areas the network panel will focus on include anti-social behaviour, economic development, the environment, community planning, regeneration, conservation, community safety and transport and highway issues. There will be an opportunity for people to discuss the draft plans, share their views and help to shape future proposals.
Vashti Pearce, who is piloting the role of ‘police community management officer’, will inform the panel on her current role and the responsibilities that go with it, as well as updating them on local policing issues.
There will also be a discussion of parish matters, including successful projects and local concerns. The panel will be considering applications for the local devolution fund, which can be used to help local councils and organisations take on the running of services and property in the Bude network area and support local partnership working.
Cornwall Councillor Nicky Chopak, chair of the Bude Community Network Panel, said: “Health and policing are important issues for everyone. The meeting is an opportunity to find out how plans for the future could affect you. There’s also a chance to share your views on the health proposals, both at the meeting and online and I would encourage everyone to do so. Our panel meetings always include time for public questions and to meet local parish, town and Cornwall Councillors, and everyone is welcome to come along.”
The meeting will take place on January 9, from 7pm to 9pm in the Conference Room, Parkhouse Centre.
