POLICE met with Launceston Day Centre recently, where service users were able to air their concerns following a recent attempted break in.
The visit was organised by Cornwall Councillor Gemma Massey, following her recent work with the team at Launceston Day Centre.
Some of the service users had expressed their safety concerns to Cllr Massey following an attempted break in at the centre.
These concerns were discussed with PC Stoppard along with other worries including online safety and fraud, plus questions tabled to him related to crime rates in the town and issues with cuts to the police to name a few.
Cllr Massey said: “It is important to open up all lines of communication in our town, including with the police. I appreciate our service has faced cuts and is very stretched, but such visits are time well spent, they can reaffirm the positive work being down by our local team which often goes unrecognised and also put a face to a name, which is key when residents feel their safety has been compromised in some way.”
