WITH the hoped warmer weather due to arrive at some point, Launceston Police Neighbourhood Team would like to remind residents to check and update the security on outbuildings.

Residents should ensure that wherever possible all garages and sheds are locked, and record serial numbers of any valuable equipment such as chainsaws and lawn mowers. If anyone would like any property marking equipment contact your local neighbourhood team who will be happy to help.

Due to the prolonged cold weather there has been a slight increase in thefts of heating oil. Please can residents ensure that their fuel tanks are secure and keep an eye out for any suspicious activity around fuel tanks, especially those which are situated away from the property.

The non-emergency number is 101 for reporting a crime which has already happened, to give information about a crime or to speak to your local officer. In case of an emergency always call 999.

If you prefer online contact then non emergencies can be reported on http://www.devon-cornwall.police.uk">www.devon-cornwall.police.uk or by emailing [email protected]">[email protected]. Anonymous contact can also be made through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
