TWO police officers will be taking their duty out of their town in July as they take on a 15,000ft skydive in aid of charity, dressed in their new uniforms — 'Mrs Incredible' and 'Lara Croft'!

Sgt Pennie Channing (Mrs Incredible) and PCSO Emma Tomkies (Lara Croft) from the Holsworthy Beat Team will be falling from the sky on July 18 in aid of the North Devon Hospice — and to celebrate Sgt Channing's ten years as the neighbourhood team leader for the town, which happens in May.

Despite Sgt Channing's family thinking she is "a little bit crazy" for celebrating the anniversary by doing the skydive, they are supportive and will be watching on the day.

PCSO Tomkies said: "I am very excited about the jump, it has been something that I have always wanted to do and having the chance to raise money for such a productive local charity at the same time is ideal!

"We are jumping on behalf of the North Devon Hospice as they are a local charity with a base within Holsworthy, they help hundreds of people every day some of whom are our friends, family and members of our community. The superhero theme is all a bit of fun, and will hopefully help us raise more funds."
