POLICE in Launceston are investigating after a 20 year old man was attacked in the street.

The incident happened at around 10pm on Friday, March 13 near St Thomas Hill, Launceston. The victim was grabbed from behind as he walked up the steps from Castle Hill and was held around the neck before being pushed against a wall.

The victim suffered reddening to his neck as a result of the attack.

The suspect has been described as a white man, aged 35 to 40, over 6ft tall and of stocky build. He had a shaven head and stubble.
