THE home of the late Launceston poet Charles Causley will soon welcome the next poet-in-residence.
The next residency opportunity at Cyprus Well follows in the footsteps of Kathryn Simmonds, Dr Alyson Hallett, and current resident poet, Isabel Galleymore.
This three-month residency for a writer is part of the larger literature project, Spark to Flame.
This is the third of six residency opportunities at Cyprus Well during 2016-17 as part of the Spark to Flame project.
The project takes its name from the closing lines of Charles Causley’s poem’ Kelly Wood’ and in addition to the residencies, a programme of events and activities to promote Causley’s legacy and provide accessible opportunities to engage with literature is currently being rolled out in Cornwall and beyond.
The writer will be based in Launceston between May and July 2016, and will run and participate in a series of workshops and events co-ordinated by the Charles Causley Trust, while retaining the remainder of their time free for their own writing.
The closing date for applications is next Thursday, March 31.
