POEMS old and new were enjoyed in an informal gathering organised by the Charles Causley Trust on October 4.
The event took place at Jericho’s Kitchen to mark National Poetry Day, the theme of which was ‘Change’.
Guests were treated to brand new poems from the trust’s current writer in residence, Jen Hadfield. The evening was compéred by David Devanny, the trust’s previous writer in residence, who also performed his work (left), along with poet Sarah Cave and former prize winner Isaac Cude.
Launceston Town Councillor Jane Nancarrow, a former pupil of Charles Causley, delighted the audience by reading some of her favourite Causley poems (pictured above).
The evening ended with an open floor session where guests were invited to read their chosen poems which included a reading of ‘The Jolly Hunter’ by a young Charles Causley fan.
