HARVEST festival at Egloskerry Primary School was a great success with a packed hall, eager children and plenty of produce.
The theme for this term is Journeys, alongside the whole school focus on The Wizard of Oz, and this was presented in a variety of ways during the afternoon.
Class R were enthusiastic with their poetry recital and song. Class 1 explained the events of the Fire of London. They also retold the story of the Giant Turnip in song.
Class 2 read their carefully written Haikus about autumn, followed by thoughtfully written prayers by Class 3. The afternoon was rounded off with some rousing singing.
The Rev Pengelly led the harvest prayer and Mrs Kerr thanked everyone for the generous donations to the harvest boxes, which are distributed to nominated people within the community. The Friends of Egloskerry School provided cream teas during the afternoon and Class 3 set up games on the field in the afternoon sun.
