CHILDREN climbed and clambered to try out the new play equipment at South Petherwin on Saturday. After a few years in the planning the new South Petherwin play area was officially opened by Andrew Hosking from South Petherwin Parish Council and Tim Gray, headteacher of South Petherwin Primary School on Saturday. A spokesperson said: "The event, organised jointly by the parish council and the school parent teachers' association, was a great hit." The children were entertained with the new equipment, supplied by Outdoor Play People, the mobile skate park, a barbecue, refreshments and craft activities. The project was funded by the Aggregate levy fund and Otter Power Ltd, developers of the Trevosa cross wind turbine. Thanks have been extended to all involved with the project.
