PLANS for the Gorsedd celebrations in Camelford later this year are taking shape.
A further meeting was held at the council offices in College Road, Camelford, on Wednesday, February 8, and a good number of people again attended, despite it being a bitterly cold evening.
As well as the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and interested parties, a number of Gorsedd officials also went along.
These included the Deputy Grand Bard, Maureen Fuller; Rev Jane Kneebone, the Gorsedd Chaplain; Merv Davey, the piper; Mike Millard, chief marshal; Terri Jones, in charge of the dances; and Keith and Clarinda Truscott, concert organisers.
Mayor of Camelford, Rob Rotchell — who is also LOC chairman — reported that the Camelford Young Farmers' Club had agreed to organise the car parking and set up the chairs.
The Gorsedd celebrations will begin on April 21, when the proclamation event will take place.
The attending Bards will gather outside the Methodist Church and walk to Enfield Park, where the proclamation will be read.
A few months later, Saturday, August 25, will mark the 90th anniversary of Enfield Park.
