NEGOTIATIONS are currently taking place before a new planning application is submitted for a windfarm at Davidstow.
Rob Fryer from Community Windpower addressed Camelford Town Council at the meeting on Tuesday, October 19.
He said future proposals for Davidstow are currently in negotiation, including a screening programme for a future windfarm application on that site.
Once negotiations are complete, an application will be formalised.
It is expected that the application — for 20 turbines with a height of around 125 metres each (as in the previous application) — will be submitted towards the end of the year. There will be public exhibitions beforehand.
Mr Fryer said the company still wanted to push the community elements, such as the BeGreen shop in Camelford with funding for 'green' schemes in the area, namely Camelford, Davidstow and Advent.
He has also spoken to Cornwall Council about the possibility of installing a 'community turbine' which, he said, would generate revenue for the local community of £30 to 40,000 a year.
Planning consent for a previous application was granted by Cornwall Council, but in July this year, the decision was overturned by the Strategic Planning Committee.
