PLANS for a new veterinary practice in Camelford have been given the green light by Cornwall Council.

Documents submitted to the council state Inns Park, the site of the planning application, has for many years been a small veterinary practice with a principal residence for the owner and a smaller house for a company veterinarian.

In November 2015 the practice was acquired by Holsworthy Management Co Ltd on behalf of Penbode Ltd.

The plans, approved with conditions, allow the demolition of existing redundant dwelling and outbuildings used as a veterinary practice, and construction of three new dwellings.

The new, two-storey practice will be built first and located so the existing practice can continue to operate during the construction phase.

Documents state: “The development at Inns Park will provide a much needed substantial veterinary practice to serve Camelford and the surrounding community. The three proposed houses are aimed at a different market from the existing estate giving a choice of home in the area and good visibility from the site together with the new footpath will help to make the area safer for all.”
