NATIONAL Highways have announced that a layby on the A30 is set to be closed until early August.
The stretch of road where the layby is located that is affected is at Whiddon Down.
The layby is set to be closed on or after July 13 with the works completed by August 1.
It is required to enable the installation of a weather station alongside other maintenance works and the closure is necessary to enable it to be undertaken in safety.
National Highways stated: “The effect of the Order will be to authorise the closure of the eastbound layby between the A3124 overbridge and Whiddon Down Junction.
“The closures (which will not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles) will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.

“The Order will come into force on 11 July 2026 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.”
