PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council in North Cornwall and Torridge District Council in Torridge.

Licence application

A PADSTOW based retailer has applied to the Traffic Commissioner seeking an amendment to an existing heavy goods vehicle operator licence.

It is seeking permission to site three vehicles and one trailer.

The address in question is Unit 6a, Trecerus Industrial Estate, Padstow, PL28 8RW.

A goods vehicle operator's licence (often called an 'O' licence) is a legal requirement in the UK for businesses using trucks, lorries, or vans over 3.5 tonnes (3,500kg) gross plated weight — or over 1,525kg unladen.

It authorises specific sites as operating centres, ensuring vehicles do not disturb local residents, have safe access, and are properly maintained.

The deadline to do so is May 6, 2026.

Alcohol licence

A BUSINESS in Polzeath is seeking permission for the granting of an alcohol licence.

Yo Coast Dunders Hill, Polzeath would be permitted to sell alcohol if the licence application is successful.

Representations must be made to Cornwall Council by April 30.

Car park changes

CORNWALL Council has confirmed details of changes to how its car parks in North Cornwall operate.

Among the changes are the removal of the two to three hour tariff within long stay car parks.

Additionally, the Just Park Wallet minimum spend, which offers discounts for use has been reduced to £35.

Several car parks will see the introduction or alterations to their charges. At Scarletts Well in Bodmin, a small car park adjacent to the Camel Trail that has previously been free, charges will be introduced.

There will also be the introduction of charges at Viewing Point North in Widemouth and Howells Bridge in Bude.

Several car parks will be included in motorhome charges, too namely: Link Road in Padstow, Cattle Market in Launceston and Victoria Square in Bodmin.
