A PUBLIC consultation event will be held in Camelford Town Hall to allow people to see details of a planning application for three new homes on land next to the former rectory.
The application is being drawn up by the land agents for the Diocese of Truro, and has been tailored to enable the redevelopment of the medical centre as a community health hub.
The plans will be on display in Camelford Town Hall from 5.30pm to 7pm on Tuesday, September 17, before the town council meeting.
Anybody is welcome to go along and see the plans and speak to representatives of the diocese.
Agent Michael Greet said: “The NHS did a consultation to find out what people would like to see in the town, and we have held off to enable us to see the plans for that. Our application has been tailored to fit around the latest plans for the health hub development and access, and we have set aside some land for that.”
The plans are for three detached homes on land next to the junction of Victoria Road and Trefrew Road.
The land has been earmarked for development since a ‘pre-app’ consultation was carried out in 2012.
Michael said: “We think that now we have seen the plans for the hub and made sure part of our site is available for that, it is a good time for us to go ahead with this application.
“We are maintaining a buffer between the proposed houses and the church, and have been planting new trees there so that any affected by the development should not result in a loss of habitat.
“The plan is to build three new homes in good quality materials that will make a desirable, small development, close to the town centre.
“We hope that anybody interested in knowing more will come along on this evening when the plans will be there to view and we will be able to answer people’s questions.”
