An application for internal alterations at Tommy Jacks Beach Hotel at Crooklets in Bude was approved by Bude-Stratton Town Council planning committee, during its recent meeting at the Parkhouse Centre.
The application looks to provide 10 hotel suites, which will change single bedrooms into larger bedrooms.
Cllr Peter La Broy supported the idea, and said: “I think its an interesting concept. Hotels up country have had this process applied to them.
“I think it’s different to the other places in the town and will be welcoming for holidaymakers.”
The application also sought permission for two external canopies on the south facing (front) elevation.
The committee had no objection to the application and all councillors voted in favour of both changes.
The final decision is expected to be made by Cornwall Council plans committee.
