THE Launceston Community Development Trust is holding a public consultation for the affordable housing development at Prouts Corner next week.

The trust will be applying for planning permission soon, and is urging members of the public to go along and have their say on the proposed development.

The event will be held at The Guildhall, Launceston Town Hall, on Monday, February 25 from 3pm to 7pm.

Launceston Community Development Trust (CDT) has been set up by a group of local residents who are keen to develop affordable housing and community assets in Launceston.

Its first project is to develop affordable housing for local people in the town,

The project is for 30 affordable homes near the town centre, which will be available to anyone with a local connection.

A private family trust with longstanding historic and current connections with the town has asked the CDT to propose a viable, sensitive development scheme that will benefit the town for many years to come.
