LIFTON Community Centre trustees have rejoiced at the news that planning permission has been granted for a new centre.

The new build hopes to unite the village that is divided by both river and road.

With the land secured, efforts are now focused on applying for funds to go towards the new build.

The centre is planned to be completed by 2015 and will provide sporting, learning and social facailities for the Lifton community and the surrounding areas.
