NORTH Devon Hospice is calling on the Holsworthy community to come together on Friday, February 15, to ‘Pitch in a Pound’ and donate to the hospice.
The hospice runs the outreach centre in Holsworthy, ‘The Long House’, which provides care and support close to home for those in the area facing cancer and their loved ones.
In last year’s Pitch in a Pound event, the power of the pound generated £15,000 in just one day, thanks to the generosity of the North Devon community.
Hospice event organiser, Cathy Richards, said: “We’re calling on individuals, schools, businesses and community groups to come together and pitch in a pound for the hospice. It might seem like a small contribution to make, but when lots of other people are taking part too, it’s a powerful way to show how a little can add up to a lot when the community comes together to support it.”
Cathy added: “We need to raise £4.5-million in charitable income once again this year so that we can continue to provide care to our patients and their loved ones facing a life limiting illness across North Devon. Pitch in a Pound is the first of our fundraising events this year — hopefully together we’ll get off to a great start!”
