THERE were celebrations when children from Tintagel and Delabole Primary Schools visited St Piran's Chapel on the saint's day.

The St Piran's Day pilgrimage was a great success as all the children took part in the annual walk from Halabron Crossroads, across fields and through woods to Trethevy and the chapel, waving their St Piran flags.

Headteacher Judy Gidzewicz welcomed everyone into the chapel. The Rev Michael Parsons spoke about the history of St Piran and the Cornish heritage.

On returning to school the children enjoyed a pasty lunch, joined by parents and grandparents.
