FOUR little pigs are set to become stars of a new film showing some of the best tourism destinations in Cornwall. The porky quartet will be seen when the movie gets its premier on YouTube later this year. They were captured when the film crew moved onto Reddivallen Farm near Boscastle, a five-star Gold award winning B&B run by Liz and Anthony Brewer.

The idea came from Shelley Barratt, who as an ambassador for the Cornwall Sustainable Tourism project, CoaST, was asked to find locations showing off the green side of the tourist industry.

Shelley, the owner of Orchard Lodge, another five-star B&B in Boscastle, teamed up with the Brewers who kindly offered to provide the premises and expertise in a joint venture to produce home-reared pork and sausages for both B&Bs.

It's the second year the two businesses have got together to promote locally sourced and produced food and it's proved a great hit with guests

So when the film crew arrived and wanted some pictures to promote the green tourism agenda the pigs seemed a natural choice. The two-man crew also interviewed Shelley at Orchard Lodge and got shots of the business and around Boscastle, which has the unique distinction of boasting five Gold Green Tourism Business Scheme Awards — the highest concentration anywhere in the UK.

Funded by CoaST, the film features their Ambassadors across Cornwall and will be used as part of a campaign to promote sustainable tourism and show that going green doesn't mean compromising quality.

"It was quite an experience taking the film crew around," said Shelley. "We had to go over things several times to make sure they got the pictures they wanted. Of course, when we got to the pigs they weren't at all camera shy and managed to steal the show. We're now all looking forward to seeing the finished film."

And if all goes well, camera, action lights — and pigs should be seen on the worldwide website in May.
