Photography degree student Aaron Parsons captured this air ambulance rescue (above) while he was enjoying a family day at Crackington Haven on Saturday. He explained: "A lady at Crackington Haven fell over on rocks and landed on her hip. She was in need of emergency assistance. After the road ambulance arrived, it wasn't long before they knew the lady was in need of hospital treatment quickly, so an air ambulance soon was called for. The helicopter was forced to land on the beach in dramatic fashion, where paramedics from the initial ambulance urged people out of the way for it to land. After 10 to 15 minutes the lady was carefully manoeuvred into the helicopter and airlifted, presumably to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. Crowds gathered to see the unfamiliar sight of a helicopter landing and taking off from the usually quaint and quiet North Cornish beach." Aaron is in his final year in Cardiff at Glamorgan University.
