Bradworthy Bowling Club opened its season in brilliant sunshine on Saturday April 18.

Club chairman Don Harris welcomed around 70 members to the green.

Then it was on to President Jeff Heavens to raise the club flag and bowl the first wood of 2009 season.

A spider was played which was won by George Glossop. For the rinks, club captains Andrew Hodges and Valerie Goaman set out 12 teams to play over 18 ends with the winners being D Poole, J Chamberlain, C Shadrick and K Andrew.

The day ended with tea and drinks in the club house.

The club officers and members wish Peter Wade good luck in is Middleton Cup trial.
