A FAMILY pet cat was left severely injured after becoming trapped in a device believed to be an illegal snare.
The cat's owner Margaret Bolton who lives near Boyton, said she has never before seen such injuries.
Her cat, Sascha, was found lying in the dining room with a slit in her tail down to the bone and her back leg 'looked as though it had been skinned'.
Sascha had been out of the house for around four hours, and, on her return, Margaret rushed her to an emergency vet. Sascha was treated for trauma and her tail and leg were amputated.
Margaret believes the injuries were as a result of illegal traps, possibly gin traps.
