This year's Royal Cornwall Show marked a significant milestone in its history as the three days from Thursday, June 10 to Saturday, June 12 once again saw thousands through the gates, many unaware that it was the 50th anniversary since it settled permanently in Wadebridge.
The three days kicked off with what many described as the 'perfect show weather' and indeed this remained for the entire course of the three days, becoming even hotter and sunnier on Friday and Saturday.
This year's 217th extravaganza saw an increase of around 500 more people than last year, over 125,000 people flooded through the gates of the showground to give the show its third-highest attendance. Official figures revealed a total of 125,748 people — slightly more than last year's 125,243.
Always something for everyone, there were a large number of agricultural entries; a range of food and produce; stalls and trade stands; constant entertaining main arena performances including the world-renowned JCB Dancing Diggers and of course a variety for the horticulturists to take a look at in the flower tent, to name just a few.
Secretary, Chris Riddle said: "The show was just as wonderful as the previous one, the weather was kind to us throughout the event and on Saturday it was sunny and breezy, which made it good show weather."
As usual there was a range of local produce to try and buy in the Cornwall Food and Farming tent.
