LAUNCESTON 'A' team kicked off their Division One season with a 10-0 win against newly promoted Launceston 'B'.
Despite the one sided nature of the scoreline, the match itself was a much closer affair with many games going to deuce and the 'B' team putting up a good fight.
The 'A' team consisting of Kevin Worth and Adam Paynter at first pair and Graham Worth and Rod Wood at second pair just had too much experience and power for the enthusiastic 'B' team. Tim Mitchell and Barry Frayn at 1 and Andrew Hamilton and Tim Hambly at 2 never stopped competing and showed that they will be able to compete at this level after two promotions in two years.
Bude only had one regular member of their 'B' team and were made up of two 'C' team members and a junior playing his first senior match. Launceston were just too strong in all departments and despite some close games ran out comfortable winners.
