MOOR mizzle was the perfect day to hold the St Breward Church plant sale.

Sunny, and people are on the beach or the garden. Pouring with rain, and they might not venture out. A really busy morning ensued.

The total net profit amounted to £600, a record yet again for this combined plant sale and coffee morning.

The sale of plants raised £293 (a further record broken), of which John Overton’s stall brought in £190. The plant tables were an absolute picture, resplendent with a plethora of healthy vegetables, shrubs, indoor plants, floriferous bedding plants and gardening tools.

The large raffle had a garden theme, the cake stall had plenty to satisfy most tastes and the bric-a-brac stall had a ‘nearly new’ section. The Kitchen Café was busy and buzzing with garden talk. All round, a tremendous and joyful success.

St Breward Church events co-ordinator and Parochial Church Council treasurer, Caroline Hooper, said: “A really big thank you to all involved and, of course, happy gardening!”
