POLICE Community Support Officer Mike Dodd has recently been approved to use the police bicycles at Camelford.

He is photographed in Delabole after having had lunch with residents at the Methodist Schoolroom there.

Mike said: "I find the bike a very good method of travelling out to the villages around Camelford, members of the public being far more likely to speak to an officer riding slowly past on a bicycle than an officer in a marked police car."

Mike works closely with partner agencies such as local schools and housing associations to try to reduce crime and disorder. He regularly patrols the area on foot, by bicycle or in a car.

"Please do not hesitate to stop and speak to me for a chat about any local concerns that you have," he added.
