THE issue of parking in Launceston has been raised with the chief executive of Cornwall Council.

Devon and Cornwall's Police and Crime Commissioner, Conservative Tony Hogg, wrote to the council's chief executive Andrew Kerr following a public surgery in the town.

Mr Hogg said the main topic raised during his surgery was parking in the area.

He wrote to Mr Kerr: "I am sure you also have this issue raised with you on a regular basis, although I was particularly concerned when I heard stories of individuals having to walk out into the road as cars are parking on pavements.

"A number of the stories that I heard fell both within the responsibility of the local policing team as well as under your local authority responsibility."
