THE community of Morwenstow recently came together to celebrate the Patronal Festival on Friday, June 24.
Pupils and staff from St Mark’s School followed Bude Town Band in the procession to the church, to take part in the service.
Following the service, the community marched back to the Festival Field to participate in the children’s sports events. Afterwards, the audience was entertained by the colourful maypole dance, and the Bude Town Band played for the audience in the marquee during tea.
St Mark’s PTA manned their various games and stalls, selling ‘goodies’ to the children, and Matt Hodgson organised a very energetic game of Dodgeball.
With the delicious barbeque in the evening, music was also provided by the entertaining ‘Basil’s Balls-Up Band’.
A spokesperson for the Patronal Festival committee said: “The committee were disappointed that events were not better supported this year, but would like to thank those who did attend the various events during Festival week and on Festival Day itself, and we hope to see more people at next year’s Festival.”
