I am contacting you about my mother and father's caravan being broken into on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

My mother and father have been visitors to Bude for over 30 years and some 11 years ago they bought a caravan on the Upper Lynstone Caravan Park, Lynstone Rd, Bude.

My father is a keen angler, and has been a member of the Bude Angling Society for many years and won many trophies.

On Sunday we received a telephone call from the site owner advising us that our caravan had been broken into, and that it had been completely ransacked.

Both my parents are in their mid to late seventies, with my father currently undergoing treatment for bladder cancer, (his next treatment is Tuesday of this week).

Both the site owner and my father have contacted the police, but were advised that they would not log the call let alone give him a crime number until he was at the caravan.

So my father now has to undergo cancer treatment on Tuesday and drive 220 miles to Bude on Wednesday so the police will investigate this horrible crime, (we live in Coventry).

To say both my parents are traumatised by the experience is an understatement, and they now have the additional issues of driving to Cornwall to meet the police, whilst still feeling the effects of his treatment.

I am hoping you can publicise this incident, not to criticise the over worked and underappreciated police force in the country, but to make others aware of this crime by mindless scum and be vigilant if they see any electrical goods being sold cheaply.

Coventry.
