BERRIES Pre-school start the new academic year with a change in their voluntary management committee.
As a registered charity and under their constitution, 60 per cent of the committee needs to be parents of children who attend Berries Pre-school.
Therefore, when the request went out to parents of the pre-school to take 'up the reins' and join the committee, three new parents stepped forward. Joely Ball took up the position of Chair, Dawn Hogg the position of treasurer, and Sarah Jane Streeter joined as a committee member to support with fundraising.
Joely Ball, the new chairperson, said: "My little girl can't wait to get to pre-school. After the settling in period I had no problem in leaving her. I gave her a kiss and said bye, but she was so busy playing she didn't even notice I had left. I was the one who was crying!"
