A GROUP of parents from the Bude area has launched a proposal to establish a new Free School in the area at secondary level.

Calling themselves Route 39 Education Project they are planning to describe their ideas in a series of community presentations in early November.

Free Schools are non-selective, state-funded schools set up in response to what local people want and need in order to extend education for children in their community. Free Schools have already been set up by a wide range of groups —parents, teachers, charities, universities and businesses — across the country, including one in Cornwall (St Michael's Catholic Secondary School in Truro).
