FROM Monday to Friday the Shebbear Junior School buildings stood largely empty as our pupils headed for the Memorial Hall for a week of rehearsals for the eagerly awaited school production.

The pupils and staff involved worked so hard all week and their hard work paid off, as they entertained us all with what was simply the best pantomime I have ever seen.

Outstanding make-up, courtesy of Mrs Gunning, with Mrs Sue Standford and the rest of their team, delicious food during the interval, provided by the culinary expertise of Mrs Leeanne Kirby and Mrs Susie Willis-Butcher, wonderful costumes, largely the work of Mrs Julia Barker, marvellous accompanying music, from our resident band Mrs Lisa Parker, Mr Kevin Parker and Mrs Fiona Goode, and all under the masterful and flamboyant direction of our 'principal girl' Mrs Di Jones, made for two wonderful nights of entertainment.
