MAGGIE Dawe, from Launceston, and Jacky Dinnis, from Lewannick, decided to have a month without drinking alcohol and wanted to raise some money for two charities, which are close to their hearts.

Maggie has family members with prostate cancer and Jacky has experienced the loss of a parent with dementia, so the two charities that were chosen were Prostate Cancer and Dementia UK.

Maggie and Jacky said: “We wanted to raise awareness of these two diseases and how important it is to encourage loved ones to seek advice early and to support these charities in the valuable work they do.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that supported us and are pleased to be giving £500 to each charity.”
