THE Garden of Remembrance at the War Memorial in Launceston Square was blessed by the British Legion Padre, the Rev David Michaels, and the first crosses placed by the President of the Launceston Branch of the Royal British Legion, Mr Peter Rowe and the Chairman, Mr John Knights recently.

This launches the Poppy Appeal for 2011, which this year commemorates the 90th Anniversary of the Royal British Legion.

Poppy crosses and wreaths are available at Hicks and Sons, as well as other outlets.

The Two Minute Silence will be held at the Memorial at 11 am on Friday, November 11 2011, (11.11.11).

The Remembrance Parade and Service will take place in the Square on Sunday, November 13 at 11am.

All participants taking part in the parade are requested to fall in at 10.30am in Westgate Street, and the Parade will step off at 10.45am.
