THE owners of a dog lost in Crackington Haven earlier this year have again asked area residents for their assistance in finding her.

The red Chow Chow, named Lexi, has been missing since May 12.?Six-months since her disappearance, owner Jan Jurczuk has no information on her whereabouts and is offering a 'substantial reward' for information leading to her safe return.

Lexi, who is micro-chipped and spayed, went missing while the family were enjoying a week's holiday at a rented cottage in Crackington.

Jan said: "We nipped into the cottage to fetch her harness and lead ready to go out for the day, went to find her and she had gone. To this day, we still don't know if she got out of the garden and went walkabouts, or if she was taken. It's a complete mystery."

Jan lives 250-miles away in Derbyshire and praised the efforts of people using social media to help find Lexi, adding she welcomes all the help she can get.

"Could I ask you all that when you are out and about on your walks, if you could keep an eye out looking for Lexi?

"Life has been so sad without Lexi in it — we have had her since she was eight-weeks-old.

"Chow Chows are still an unusual breed of dog to see regularly, so please help us to find Lexi if you can. There is a substantial reward for the safe return of Lexi. We just want Lexi back with us where she belongs."

Lexi is registered with Doglost.co.uk, and her ID number is 68830. Doglost.co.uk can be contacted on 08448 003220. Jan is also available on either 07986 803749 or 01283 211062. To get in touch with the police, use the 101 number.
