CHILDREN stepping in dog mess has led Camelford Town Council to try and enforce existing signage stating dogs must be on a lead around the play area in Enfield Park.

Anyone seen with a dog(s) off lead in this area will be asked to put them back on the lead.

People are welcome to let their dogs off leads when clear of the play area and the area where families sit, as long as they pick up after their dog.

A spokesperson for Camelford Town Council said: “The reason for this is we have had a few incidents reported of children stepping in dog mess. As we are heading into summer, more and more families enjoy the field, and so, for health and safety reasons, and being considerate, we ask you to please just keep them on leads in this part of the park.

“If you have any complaints or concerns, please see either Esther Greig (town clerk) or Amanda Musgrave — we are located above Parkway Insurance. We hope you will understand and help make our park a place to be enjoyed by all.”
