BOSCASTLE and Tintagel Group of Churches held their annual Harbour Happening event in Boscastle on the Sunday of the recent August bank holiday weekend.

The successful event began with a church service on Valency Lawn, attended by more than 50 people, followed by the opening of the fete with a full range of favourite stalls and activities.

A fancy dress competition was a new event this year, with participants parading around the harbour.

Visitors and local people were entertained by the St Gennys Band and by a traditional Punch and Judy show.

The priest-in-charge, the Rev Heather Aston, has sent her thanks to the businesses who sponsored the event or provided prizes, and to everyone who worked so hard to make it such a successful and enjoyable event.

More than £2,700 was raised to support the work of all four parishes in the group.
