CAMELFORD Co-Op held their annual community funds awards at their store on Saturday, November 24 where they presented three local groups with cheques.
St Piran’s Playschool in Delabole, Camelford Girl Guides and Sir James Smith’s School Foundation were the lucky recipients of the awards which were made by store manager Nick Park and community pioneer Owen Brocklehurst.
On the day, Co-op stores celebrated giving away £19-million to local charities throughout the country.
The Camelford store alone raised nearly £13,000 which was split between their three chosen charities.
These monies are raised throughout the year from the Co-Op’s Community Fund where 1% of members transactions on Co-op products are donated to these chosen charities.
Colleagues in-store said: “We are delighted to be able to help local charities and ask all our customers to become members which would make next year’s pay-out even bigger!”
