A LIVELY and good humoured fundraising auction was held at the church of St Michael and All Angels, Bude Haven, on Saturday, September 7.
Following a similar event two years ago, the St Michael’s fundraisers were determined that this one would be as successful. The team were lucky enough to secure the services of Reg Hamley from Kilkhampton once again to act as auctioneer. In his safe hands the sale of almost 200 lots, donated both from individuals and local businesses, proceeded apace with some items making over £50.
Furniture, pictures and bicycles were popular lots, with items as diverse as boxes of vinyl singles, a chocolate fountain, a good range of wicker goods and PAT tested electrical goods making pleasing amounts.
Refreshments were served by the hard working catering team during viewing and throughout the event, which added handsomely to the monies raised.
The organisers were pleased that interest in the event attracted a sizeable number of people resulting in a full church for the auction itself. Overall over £1,300 was raised for St Michael’s funds.
The organisers have extended thanks to anyone who supported the event in any way, particularly those who donated goods or vouchers for the sale, food for refreshments and those who came along on the day to buy.
